Towards the development of numerical models for operational forecasting of Coastal Hazards for the benefit of the Technical Directorate of Meteorology of ANAM
Technical Workshop on the Development of a Numerical Model for Coastal Hazard ForecastingA technical workshop dedicated to the development of an operational numerical model for coastal hazard forecasting was held on October 7, 2025, within the Directorate General of Civil Security (DGSC).This workshop marks a key milestone in the data collection phase, bringing together all stakeholders involved in climate risk management, as well as services related to maritime affairs and the coastal environment. The main objective is to strengthen national capacities in forecasting, planning, and decision-making in response to phenomena such as coastal erosion, marine submersion, and high waves that threaten the country’s coastal areas. With a budget of USD 147,063, this activity illustrates the project’s commitment to science, innovation, and climate risk prevention, in the service of safety.
